Ganga in Mind

The cover image embodies the themes of redemption and spiritual cleansing, central to the story of Jagan’s journey to the Ganga.

Jagan never hesitated to do anything as long as it served his interests. Needless to say, he had swindled, cheated, and betrayed others. It was said that once a man takes a dip in the holy river Ganga, his sins get washed away. Inspired by this belief, Jagan decided to visit Kashi to cleanse himself of his misdeeds, despite the expense it would incur.

In a village named Mada, he found a companion willing to accompany him to Kashi. “Indy,” Madhav said with a grin, “after you dip in the Ganga, have another dip for my sake, if you think it will help.” Jagan handed some money to Madhav for his promised service, hoping the ritual would grant him the redemption he sought.

As the moments passed, Jagan grew impatient and asked Madhav, “When are you going to the Ganga?” Madhav explained, “I had an idea. I think our pond can serve as the Ganga; that should do. So I had one dip for me and another for you—here it is!”
