The Search for True Beauty

This story happened centuries ago, revolving around a woman whom the queen trusted very much. She often picked up pearls and gold beads that had fallen from the queen’s many necklaces and ornaments, faithfully restoring them to their owner. In gratitude, the queen would sometimes allow the woman to keep a few precious items for herself.

The woman’s little son lived at his maternal uncle’s house for his education. One day, the boy returned to his parents’ home and, at night, he noticed the pearls and gold beads his mother had stored. “How beautiful these are!” he exclaimed in wonder.

“They are indeed beautiful, my son. However, only when you see the queen adorned with such precious things will you understand what true beauty is,” the boy’s mother replied thoughtfully. The boy fell silent after hearing this, went outside, and did not return even after several hours had passed. The anxious parents began searching for him, and neighbors joined in, but he was nowhere to be found.

Years later, the mother received a message from her son: “Mother, I had heard from my uncle that the sun, the moon, the stars, and the sky are all ornaments of God. Your comment about the queen’s beauty compared to the ornaments truly inspired me. The sun, the moon, and the stars are beautiful; how magnificent must be God, whom they adorn! I set out searching for Him, and I am happy to tell you that I have found Him. He is so magnificent that words cannot describe His charm!”

The mother wept upon reading the message but felt joy knowing that her son had discovered such profound beauty.
