G Double Gain

In the town of Shuipur, two merchants lived beside each other: Sushila and Janaki, who were great friends. They both had prosperous lives. However, a third merchant named Gita moved in next to them, and her wife soon forged a friendship with the two ladies.
Gita saw that both Sushila and Janaki lived happily, supported by their financial success. Curiosity led her to discover the secret behind their wealth. She learned that Sushila had a hymn that could appease the Deity of Misery, granting her the boon that the deity would never visit her house. Conversely, Janaki knew how to invoke the Deity of Wealth, who promised never to leave her home.
Gita devised a plan to appease both deities simultaneously, aiming for double gain. She recited the hymn that she had learned from Janaki, blending the two invocations together. When she opened her eyes, she was astounded to see both deities present before her.
The two deities looked almost identical, leading Gita to mistakenly switch their identities. She pleaded with the first, “Please do not leave my house!” and turned to the second, saying, “Please keep away from my house!” Both deities consented to her requests and vanished from sight. However, within a week, Gita lost everything she had.
